I was re-reading the famous, lovable comic Calvin and Hobbes. It's not only fun to read - it's like looking at a time capsule.
There was a time when kids were imaginative like Calvin. Times were simple. As long as you had your stuffed tiger with you, everything in the world was great. Parents focused on raising their kid instead of staring at smartphones and talking to others all the time with their ear piece. Kids played outside instead of playing on social media. It was a time when you could relax and walk through the park.
Now there is so much violence and chaos outside that very few want to walk outside. Parents and kids don't talk to each other = they text each other instead. Stress levels are through the roof. Depression is rampant. Very few people smile anymore.
How I miss the days of Calvin and Hobbes. I miss the silly snow goons. I miss the silly tree fort and water balloon fights. I miss the alien attacks and cape crusader adventures. Those were the good old days.
It is sad to think of all the things we have lost. Everything has gone to crap since this new century started. I miss the 80's and 90's. You can have this new century. It stinks!
Take care,
LK
