When did the price of Eggs & Bacon equal the price of Caviar & Wine?

Have you noticed the price of food in the grocery store?!? Food costs more than anything and everything these days. I spent more on food during the holidays than I did on Christmas presents. That is just INSANE!

Lately, it's been hard to even pick up the basics. Often the shelves are empty = you feel like you are in a Nursery Rhyme = old mother Hubbard!

I've heard every excuse imaginable concerning the price increase and the empty shelves. Sometimes there is a problem with the supplier. Sometimes there is a problem with the employees. Sometimes it is because of a pandemic like Covid. Sometimes it is because aliens have landed and they've taken all the cookies and brought them back to their planet.

Regardless, going to the grocery store can be like going to a gambling joint. You feel like they are taking you to the cleaners. You've spent a fortune and you have only a few things in your buggy.

Or you feel like you're in a survival game when you leave your house with your grocery list. You have items that you want but you can't find them in the stores. You have to go to three or four different grocery stores in order to pick up the basics = like milk and bread. Most of us need a certain type of milk to drink. Many of us are older and told to drink milk with less fat. This means you can't just pick up whatever milk is at the store.

Frustration is high. Aggrevation is high. Price is high. Customer service is low. Quality is low. Quantity is low. It makes you want to cry.

The new year has begun. Inflation is a nightmare. Wages are a joke. We all hope things will improve. Until then, try to take deep breaths and count to ten. Losing your cool won't help. It will only give you indigestion, heartburn or diarrhea.

Take care,

LK
